Which countries does SongOwl support?

At this time, SongOwl only supports shows in the United States. SongOwl is able to follow album releases in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and France.

There's nothing on my calendar, what do I do?

Start following some artists by going to the "Settings" screen once you log in, and make sure you add location information if you're interested in finding concerts.

How many artists can I follow?

There is no practical limit to the number of artists you can follow.

What is a "Hoot"?

A hoot is just a customized note that you can write yourself on the calendar.

What date range does SongOwl show?

SongOwl collects albums released less than one year ago, which includes future album releases too. Only concert dates between today and one year from today will be shown.

Do I get notified or new albums or concerts?

Not at this time, no. You need to log in to find this information.

I like many artists some people would consider obscure. Can SongOwl help me?

Yes, this seems to make little difference to SongOwl. She tends to follow obscure artists just as well as well-known artists.

I know an album is coming out soon (or has recently been released) that isn't appearing on my calendar. What should I do?

If the release date is definitive, you can manually add a Hoot on the right day on your calendar to remind yourself. If you want to help the community, you can add the album to the MusicBrainz database, which is where SongOwl gets its album information. This way, everyone who is following that artist on SongOwl will see the new album.

I know of a show that's coming up that isn't appearing on my calendar. What should I do?

The same answer as the above, except the show would be added to JamBase instead.

How can I help?

There are at least three ways in which you can help SongOwl.

The easiest way is spreading the word. Be a fan of ours on Facebook and tell your friends.

You can also help by adding content. If you know of a concert or album release that's not showing in SongOwl, you can help the community by adding it to JamBase or MusicBrainz, making SongOwl better for everybody else.

Lastly, financial contributions are nice, since running this operation isn't free. If the discover an album through SongOwl, and purchase the item from Amazon.com after following the link from SongOwl, SongOwl receives a small commission.
